If it wasn't for the late SMS, mom would have cook porridge instead of getting kuih for the night. It was a holiday yesterday for us Malaysia folks. Brought mom to Aeon Station 18 to jalan-jalan and guess what? Mom was so happy browsing the clothes n shoes in Aeon. ;)
Anyway, the main thing wasn't about us shopping. LOL.. the main thing was that she got a text saying that there will be bible study at our place at night. Mom will usually prepare porridge and bake a cake or some muffins. And there are plenty of bananas most of the time. But yesterday, nothing was prepared. No bananas either. By the time she saw the text, it's already 2pm and we were having lunch.
So off we went to get some nyonya kuih which are a life saver. Lol... and I got to check out their Ang Ku making machine. Awesome, isn't it?! ;) The dough just pop out from the machine and it stamps a mould on it and voila! The kuih Ang Ku is ready for steaming! I think it's steam.. Am I wrong? Having doubt here.. Lol
And there are quite a few varieties to choose from. Tapioca kuih, 9 layers kuih, the white color kuih.. We called it 'fat pork' in cantonese cuz it resemble one. ;)
And there are some fried kuih and cakes and biscuits.. Etc so many to choose right? The taste is not bad too.
Oh yeah...the shop is called pusat kuih & kek Khoo Eng Chee, located along the road to Tuck Kee restaurant from town. You will pass Ee Chan sundry shop on your left and this shop is on the right before turning to Tuck Kee.
